What Do We Do?
Our members get themselves involved in a variety of activities which have included a visit to the gardens at Highgrove, attended the Garter Ceremony in Windsor, been to music taster sessions to enjoy a wide range of music, learnt about culture in other countries and been shown how to wear a kimono, had a day doing clay pigeon shooting and visited London to learn about the hidden London and Regents Canal.
Many have been on courses at Denman, the WI college in Marcham, to learn among other things: making silver jewellery, learning about the work of Cole Porter, a day learning the art of beading and also an introduction to meditation. Others have visited the factory that makes poppies in London, and in the autumn some of our members went off to see the much acclaimed Calendar Girls at the Noel Coward Theatre.
Membership is £31.50p for the year, which includes a monthly WI Life magazine that is sent direct to your home. So don't be shy, give us a try. Join the Clanfield WI and come along to the Carter Institute at 7.30 on the 2nd Tuesday in the month.
